Cottingley Village History Society was formed on 10th July 2004 with the object of promotion of local history studies and collection of photographic, documentary and oral evidence relating to the parish of Cottingley.
The information and photographs shown on this website are only a small proportion of the documents held by Cottingley Village History Society. All items held by the History Society can be viewed at the Heritage Centre when it is open or by appointment with a member of the committee on payment of a nominal donation.

The Heritage Centre will reopen on Saturday 13th April 2024 from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon at Cottingley Town Hall. Admission free.
The next open meeting will be held on Wednesday 12th June 2024 commencing at 7.30 pm in Cottingley Town Hall. Trevor Roberts will talk about “The History of Liverpool”. Admission £3 includes refreshments. For other 2024 dates and speakers see the Events page.

YOUR COTTINGLEY ANCESTORS – If you would like more information about your ancestors who lived in Cottingley, please contact the archivist (see contact information below) for further details. A transcript of the 1921 Census for Cottingley, including New Brighton and Stoney Ridge, can be viewed at the Heritage Centre.
